Alton Towers Resort Reveals Official Name and Sneak Peek of New Bluey-Themed Coaster

Alton Towers Resort have today announced that the world's-first Bluey coaster at Alton Towers Resort will be officially known as Bluey the Ride: Here Come the Grannies!

Bluey fans worldwide have been given a behind the scenes look at the brand-new coaster coming to CBeebies Land in Spring 2026.

The image gives a taste of what to expect from the attraction, showing Bluey and her younger sister, Bingo riding the coaster dressed as The Grannies, bringing their limitless energy and fun to the ride.

Here Come the Grannies! refers to a fan-favourite episode from the multiple Emmy® Award-winning animated TV show, where Bluey and Bingo play dress-up as the mischievous Grannies Janet and Rita, as they do throughout the series. They're known for their chaotic driving, dance moves - including "flossing" - and causing mischief.

Alongside the new coaster and existing Bluey experiences, including the popular meet-and-greet with Mum (Chilli), Dad (Bandit), Bluey and Bingo and live stage show within Big Fun Showtime, Alton Towers Resort has also announced plans to introduce additional Bluey-themed hotel rooms at the CBeebies Land Hotel.

With these exciting additions, Alton Towers Resort is set to become the ultimate destination for families and Bluey fans alike.

“We can’t wait to welcome the mischievous and limitless energy of the Grannies to the resort when we open the Bluey the Ride: Here Come the Grannies! this spring. Alongside even more bespoke Bluey-themed hotel rooms, we’re excited for the fans to enjoy the new attraction and immerse themselves in the mayhem of the Grannies.”

Howard Ebison, Vice President of Alton Towers Resor

We know that whenever the Grannies come out to play, it is a fan-favourite moment for those that love the show. We are excited that the energy of these much-loved characters is being brought to life in Bluey’s first-ever coaster at Alton Towers Resort – home to CBeebies Land.”

Natasha Spence, Events Director, Live Entertainment at BBC Studios
