Alton Towers Resort has today revealed the brand-new scare maze coming to Scarefest 2026, promising to immerse guests in a world of fear.
Final Exhibit will see visitors enter what appears to be a spectacular exhibition of newly discovered Alton Towers artefacts, before being lured into the hidden archive of The Curator, a terrifying figure obsessed with preserving the past. Inside, they will encounter The Archivists, a silent workforce of hypnotised servants who carry out The Curator’s sinister orders and search for new additions to his collection. Guests will soon discover that the collection is not made up of objects alone. Those who fail to escape are transformed into living exhibits, trapped within the archive forever. Final Exhibit will debut when Scarefest returns from Saturday 26 September to Sunday 1 November 2026.

Also returning for Scarefest 2026 is fan-favourite attraction COMPOUND, where guests descend into the unsettling depths of a secretive scientific facility and become unwilling participants in a twisted experiment.

Visitors can also step into The Edge of the Forest, which invites those brave enough to venture beneath its eerie canopy. Guests are warned by lost souls to be aware of the Leshwall - a sinister spirit said to infiltrate the minds of all who cross its path.

Also returning this year to Scarefest is Altonville Mine Tours: Tiny’s Revenge. The Altonville Mines are open once again, but one of the former residents, Tiny, has so far evaded justice and still haunts the dark, twisted depths of the abandoned mine.

The scares don’t stop there. Alton Towers Resort has also confirmed two iconic scare zones returning for 2026.
Dark Hollow, a free-flowing outdoor scare zone, plunges guests further into the expanding world of TH13TEEN. In this eerie extension of the Dark Forest, a haunting presence watches thrillseekers’ every move, and lures them deeper into the shadows.

Burial Ground introduces guests to The Unchosen, a cult of outcasts rejected by the Wicker Man who now inhabit a terrifying world somewhere in between the living and the dead, and abide by their own rules.

For younger thrillseekers, Trick O' Treat Town offers a delightfully spooky walk-through experience where visitors knock on doors along Spooky Avenue and into the Witchy Woods.

Families can also look forward to the return of Amigos in the Afterlife. Set in a world of colour and festivity, families will be guided by cheerful spirits on a quest to find their way back to the land of the living.

“Inspired by the rich history of Alton Towers, Final Exhibit will be a scare maze like no other. Guests will come face-to-face with truly terrifying characters and finally uncover the long-hidden Alton Towers Resort archives - revealing unimaginable secrets alongside our returning favourite scare attractions. It doesn’t matter if you’re a seasoned thrillseeker, or this is your first Scarefest - there’s something for everyone this Halloween.”
Howard Ebison, Vice President of Alton Towers Resort
