Alton Towers Resort has today revealed the official park opening date for 2026: 14th March. The wait is over as thrillseekers can experience the Resort’s full breadth of attractions and coasters following its winter closure. 2026 marks an exciting year for fans as families can look forward to the brand-new Bluey ride, which is the world’s first of its kind, opening in CBeebies Land this spring - although the exact date is still to be revealed.

The March opening also marks the return of the award-winning Alton After Dark event - which will return on 14th, 15th, 20th, 21st, 22nd, 27th & 28th March. The “Alton After Dark” experience allows thrillseekers to immerse themselves in the magic of the theme park at night. Those brave enough will be able to take on the Resort’s most iconic rides including the incredible Nemesis Reborn, the fiery spectacle of Wicker Man and plunge into complete darkness on the vertical drop of Oblivion. The experience also includes family favourites such as the Runaway Mine Train and TH13TEEN - all under the cover of darkness. Visitors can immerse themselves in after-hours adventure, with the theme park open until 8pm.

After an evening of thrills in the dark, guests can stay across the Resort’s three themed hotels, featuring five different accommodation types, with live entertainment and restaurants. Families booking a getaway between 5th January and 2nd February can unlock incredible savings on short breaks taking place from 13th March to 16th July 2026 - covering Easter, May Half Term and early summer adventures as part of the Resort’s “Kids Ride Free” offer.
